Artisans \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/hand-tufted-rugs\"\u003ehand-tuft\u003c\/a\u003e 100% New Zealand wool into a cotton canvas backing, then carve the surface by hand. The script is the hardest part — every stroke is tufted at a raised height and carved along both sides so the line keeps its thickness as it curves, tapers and crosses over itself.
